2015SVALBARD PHOTO TOUR – Mai 2015
We are on Svalbard in Longyearben, the capital, an ugly little town in the Isfjord on the west coast of the island of Spitsbergen at latitude 78°N. Only 1338km to the North Pole! They say there are more polar bears here than inhabitants (about 2200), so our chances of finding one should be pretty good.

2015Friends asked me if I could take some photos of their daughters, naturally they would be dressed in their favourite colour… different shades of pink. Of course I did, especially since they offered a brunch to start with. I arrived with a camera, flash, diffuser and a bunch of tulips for mum. Now I know about photographing wildlife, you just take what you get, get in the best position, make the best of the light and background, think ahead, hope they do what you expect them to do. So I figured with kids there wouldn’t be a problem…. Wrong ! With kids it’s a different story !

2015Doing Holland the tourist way
After living in Switzerland for 27 years I sometimes feel like a tourist when visiting my home country Holland. It seemed rather a good reason to go see Holland the tourist way…
I mean full style: tulips, windmills, wooden shoes and all. Since the relatives are rather photo-minded too they didn’t seem to mind.

2015What could be the benefit of being at home after a knee surgery? Spontaneously nothing comes to my mind, as there is pain, immobility and every little thing takes much longer than usual.
But if I wouldn’t have been at home at that time, I wouldn’t have been able to take the amazing pictures you will see in this blog.
